CMA was formed in 2017 by Christopher Michael Aves to bring the same levels of care he lavished on his own vehicles, to others. A Flight Operations Manager by trade, he spent 30 years in the field of aviation, where a level-headed approach and a meticulous eye for detail are paramount to achieving a safe and operationally successful outcome to any given situation. He brings these life skills to this new venture in order to enhance and amplify your vehicle’s aesthetics, bringing it back to, and often better than, showroom condition.
Born in the glorious year of ’66, he has been a car lover since he could pick up a Matchbox model and now has an extensive collection including some of the rarer and more desirable BMW Artcar series. His car history since he passed his driving test ranges from Austin Maxi (gifted to him by his grandfather and always a challenge!), to Mercedes C250 via… Triumph Spitfire 1500, Vauxhall Cavalier SRi Mk1 (x2), Triumph Stag (original spec V8), Peugeot 205 GTI, VW Golf GTI Mk2, VW Golf GTI Mk3 (disappointing), VW Corrado G60 (anything but disappointing), Audi A2 (still owns 12 years on), Porsche 944S2, BMW 528i (arrival of children), BMW 330d, Audi A6 (estate – space required). Still keen on toys, he also owns a Grinnall Scorpion, which is a reverse trike powered by a BMW 1200RS motor. Those currently experiencing a mid-life crisis should take a look at Mark Grinnall’s site at www.grinnalcars.com
Chris was trained by the world-renowned Kelly Harris of KDS Detailing in Gillingham, Kent and spent an extended period absorbing Kelly’s vast knowledge, accrued over many years, leading to him holding the qualification of KDS Detailing Certified Master Detailer. The scope of the training was far reaching and included basic washing techniques, paint correction with both DA and rotary polishers, flat sanding, application of various waxes and nano coatings, leather repair and all areas associated with interior enhancement including glass. His time with Kelly was thoroughly enjoyable and he discovered that despite looking after his vehicles for 35 years it is not all about the products, far from it, technique is all and there is no substitute for good technique, care and time taken. Fortunately, this is his passion, and not just a job.
CMA is based in Baildon, West Yorkshire, but is also mobile and can visit your home or place of work.
